Pal nuts or locknuts are common locking elements which must be used in all possible fastenings where a strong locking of a nut is indispensable. Wherever load changes can occur at the connection, pal nuts or locknuts are the means of choice. The special advantage of these elements is that the nut is located in the pal nut or locknut and thus a twisting security can be guaranteed. Due to the closely curved surface on the front side of a locknut or pal nut, a permanent pretension is created which, due to the static friction and the torsional resistance of the individual pal nut, provides optimum security in all important connections. Such locknuts or also called pal nuts can be made of stainless steel V2A or also V4A.
