Shims

Shims are all washers that are placed under a screw connection. Such shims prevent the screw head from being "pressed" into the structural detail or the material. Steel or stainless steel Shims are used thousands of times every day.

Today it is impossible to imagine industrial production without Shims. This is of course no wonder, because no screw connection can be made without a Shims. Shims are often the heart of a screw connection. Only in this way can a bolted joint be properly applied and the pressure changes that occur underneath a cylinder head or a head of a machine screw can flow cleanly to the fastened material. In this article we would like to show you some possibilities how such Shims are used in industry today and from which materials such Shims can be manufactured today. Furthermore, we would like to explain how our stock program or the stock of Shims looks like and a small article at the end of this article will explain how such Shims can be produced. But we would like to start with what exactly a washer has to do and how it is placed under a screw connection as a protective shield between the material and the screw head. Shims can be made in square shapes, which is unusual, or round shapes, which is standard. In order for such a Shims to be used, it must of course have a hole in the centre, so that the screw or the pin of the screw can be inserted through the hole and the Shims made of steel or stainless steel can be pushed up to the screw head. If the screw connection is now tightened firmly and a Shims is deposited on both sides of the screw connection, the generated pressure force can be transferred to the material via the Shims without the small surface of the screw head otherwise pressing into the material. In this case, Shims are a wear unit and when opening and closing again, a new Shims must be inserted, which is still fresh and without pressure marks. Of course, the standard material for Shims is almost always normal steel, which is nickel-plated, or the Shims made of stainless steel in V2A or V4A. This material is resistant in outdoor areas and can therefore be used everywhere in outdoor areas. The next section of the amount is exclusively about our delivery program of Shims, which we deliver to our customers throughout Europe.

Our stock range of shims - buy online in our online shop

Shims Stainless Steel V2A V4ACan you imagine today a screw connection that can do without Shims without damaging the material to be fastened? Certainly not, and so the Shims is one of the most frequently used Shims that can be used on screw connections thousands of times a day in Europe. No mechanical engineering company that has to screw together parts can today produce a professional screw connection without a Shims. Of course, this is also the reason why these mentioned quantities must also be made available daily, so that the companies can process their orders and deliver their parts to the machines in due time. For this reason, it has also been important for us to have included the entire range of Shims in our delivery programme, so that we can deliver the entire range of screw connections to our customers in Germany and the rest of Europe quickly and promptly. For the reasons just mentioned, it is important that our warehouse is also well stocked when our customers can quickly purchase their Shims and all other materials from us at a reasonable price via the online shop. This in turn requires that security plays a decisive role when it comes to the purchase, so that your data stored in our online shop can also be managed securely and transferred to our merchandise management system. This encryption when buying your discs in our Internet Online Shop is protected by an SSL certificate and thus access by third parties can be extremely difficult. The production of shims made of steel or stainless steel

Shims Stainless Steel V2A V4AAs in the previous amounts, we would like to give you a brief introduction to the production of Shims in this article. Many of you do not know exactly how U-Disks can actually be manufactured. We want to change this with this paragraph and bring light into the dark. Certainly you are aware of the fact that, as with all manufacturing processes, one of the most important points is the economical production of all production methods. This also means the use of ultra-modern CNC machines in the production of Shims, in which a loader is coupled, which can provide the sheet metal plates in the correct thicknesses, so that the correct sheet metal plates made of steel or stainless steel can be fed to the machine if required. The punching machine, which uses an extrusion die or punching die to press the U-discs out of the stainless steel plate by pressure. For this purpose there must be an upper tool and also a lower tool. In between there is the stainless steel plate. When the punch moves together, the Shims is pressed out of the plate and falls into a collecting container. This process is repeated a million times until enough of these Shims have come to rest in the collecting container. To start the punching process, the CNC program must first be loaded. This includes all parameters, such as pressing pressure and coordinates. When all sheets are stored in the loader and the machine has finished the set-up process, the start button can be pressed. Now the punching machine starts moving. Now the head is pressed together and the first Shims fall out of the lower tool and fall into the collecting container. This process starts until enough U-Disks are collected. Then the punching head as a whole tool can be exchanged to punch another diameter of U-Disks. Afterwards all the Shims are placed in our stock and are now waiting for your purchase so that we can put the order together and send it to you.
