Understandable - if you now know how important the little helpers are. Washers are always produced by punching as standard. There is an upper punch and a lower punch. In between there is the stainless steel plate which has to be punched. When punching the shims, the punching tools press against each other and press the sheet out. This creates the stainless steel washer which has a burr-free surface on the upper side and the underside of the washer can be burred. This is due to the punching process and the punching tool.
